Memorial Day Weekend

Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated Memorial Day.  It sure was nice to be able to have 3 days off, but it still wasn't last long enough.  Mom, dad and I took off on a little road trip up through North Georgia and North Carolina on Sunday.

Of course, our first pit stop was breakfast!

We headed towards Helen first and if we saw something we stopped.  No plan and that is totally the way to go!

Got to see some trout fishing in action!

It was a great day to get out for a little drive even though on our final leg of the trip, we hit a major thunderstorm and find out that no restaurant in downtown Blue Ridge has any food for dinner.  Really?!?!  Yes really!!

It seems like we have a lot going on in the month of June so I'll keep you posted!  Hope everyone's summer is off to a bang!

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring

So today is the first day of Spring and one of my grandma's birthday!  Happy birthday to her!

This past Winter has been a crazy one to say the least.  Not only in Georgia, but all over the country.  From a 4.5 hour drive home in snow and ice, making it to our road and parking on the side of the road and then walking home and then trying to walk up our steep a$$ driveway in heels.  Yeah, that should have been on video.  However, I can't complain too much about making it home in only 4.5 hours as it took dad 9.5 hours and some people were for stranded for longer.

After all the chaos, I did happen to get outside and take some pictures.

We definitely are not used to getting this type of weather in Georgia, much less, twice in a month's time frame.

Now it's time to see what Spring has in store for us.  Goodbye winter, hello Spring!

Playing Catch Up

Holy crap!  Where has the time gone?!?!  I posted about Christmas and disappeared!

Well, right after Christmas is Melissa & Sarah's birthday and they turned 25!  We actually got graced by the presence from 2 of our cousins and one of their girlfriends the day before their actual birthday so we decided to celebrate while they were in town.

Adam and Ben making sure our hamburgers are good and seasoned!  Brotherly chefs in the making!

Of course, we had to start out celebrating with one of our favorites - whiskey sours!!

If you have never had one of these, you are missing out.  They are beer drinkers, but we had them drinking these all night long!

In a Blender -
1 Can of Frozen Lemonade
1/3 or 1/2 of the Can of Whiskey (Virginia Gentleman is the Best!)
Fill the Blender to the Top with Ice & Blend

Delicious and you can change up the lemonade to your preference.  We had a different one each time!

Of course, the twin's birthday would not be the same if we didn't have ice cream balls and funfetti cake!

Then it was time for some Yahtzee!

I will go ahead and tell you that I always have to put a stupid 0 in the Yahtzee spot!!

We had a blast celebrating Melissa and Sarah's birthday with our cousins!  There was never a dull moment and continuous laughing definitely took place!

Christmas Has Come & Gone

Wow, where did 2013?  It was just Thanksgiving not too long ago & now Christmas has come and gone.  We had a great Christmas this year!  Nothing gets better than spending quality time with the ones you love.

Found this chalkboard print at jandpaper.etsy.com - love it!

Here is some from mom and dad's house on Christmas Day!

Christmas Gifts

Our other grill started rusting and falling apart so I was super excited about this.  I love to grill no matter what the weather may be like and gives us so many more dinner options!

Putting this bad boy to use quite a bit here lately.  Now just waiting on camera strap cover to come in!

This is amazing!!  What can I say - great dinners, great photos and great sleep!

This is the coordinates to our home address.  Love it!  I bought another one of her designs to hang side by side for a mini collage in the living room.  Designer is Jenna Sue Designs.  She is awesome!

Christmas dinner consisted of grilled lobster tail, prime rib, twice baked potatoes, green beans & mushroom gravy!

And then played some Yahtzee!  How is it that dad always wins and gets stupid Yahtzees?!?!  Zero for me everytime in that spot!!

It was a great Christmas and now onto 2014!! What will this year have in store for us??

60 Years & Counting

Wow, what a weekend!  This past Sunday, Cody's family gave his nannny & papa a 60th wedding anniversary party.  That's right, 60 years y'all!  They are true Southerners and two of the kindest people you will ever meet.  Nanny and papa are always doing for others so it was nice to able to do something for them.  I think this is probably the first time nanny didn't actually have to cook for something!

Nanny's sister catered the party in true Southern fashion - chicken, mac & cheese, a bean bar, coleslaw, & cobblers.  It was absolutely delicious!

The entire family before the party started!

Nanny's boss - She still gets up every morning Tuesday - Saturday to go and make biscuits!

There was a huge turn out and the party was great!  We are estimating about 200 people showed up.

Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary!
