60 Years & Counting

Wow, what a weekend!  This past Sunday, Cody's family gave his nannny & papa a 60th wedding anniversary party.  That's right, 60 years y'all!  They are true Southerners and two of the kindest people you will ever meet.  Nanny and papa are always doing for others so it was nice to able to do something for them.  I think this is probably the first time nanny didn't actually have to cook for something!

Nanny's sister catered the party in true Southern fashion - chicken, mac & cheese, a bean bar, coleslaw, & cobblers.  It was absolutely delicious!

The entire family before the party started!

Brothers & Sisters

Nanny's boss - She still gets up every morning Tuesday - Saturday to go and make biscuits!

There was a huge turn out and the party was great!  We are estimating about 200 people showed up.

Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary!

Round 2 Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!  We had a great time spending time with family & lots of great food!

Judd had a little gravy on his food & he is yawning!  Guess it's nap time for everyone, including the dogs!

Lovely, blurry iPhone photo!  Someone ate a little too much turkey!

With mom's diet restrictions, she made a healthy dessert!  I didn't even know those two words could go in the same sentence together, but it was delicious!  I wish I could find the recipe on Pinterest to link for you guys because this pumpkin pie recipe is a must try!

1 Thanksgiving Down, 1 To Go

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving at Cody's Nanny & Papa's House.  The food was excellent, as usual, and we had a great time!

Landon definitely takes after his uncle Cody!  Both aggravating as ever!  Can't believe Tabatha actually got both of them to smile too!

In her little turkey shirt mom made and her baby turkey bow mom bought her!

Not sure what kind of face Colton is making!?!?

One down, one more to go on Thursday!  Love this time of the year to be able to spend it with family and good food!

25 Days of Christmas Bucket List

So I saw this over on Little Baby Garvin's blog and thought what the heck, I'm going to make a list.  She makes incredible chalkboard prints for sale on Etsy & of course, I purchased a Christmas one, but it will not be put up until after Thanksgiving.

This list was a little harder to come up with than I thought!
  1. Add at least one new ornament to our Christmas tree!
  2. DIY at least one new decoration - Pinterest has already given me a few ideas!
  3. Send Christmas cards for once, that I will make myself.  Better get on top of this one!
  4. Have a date night with Cody in front of the fireplace - hotdogs & s'mores!
  5. Make Christmas cookies / treats, especially my favorite, Mexican wedding cookies!
  6. Get a Christmas manicure - Pinterest has lots of cute ideas!
  7. Have fun Black Friday shopping with mom and my sisters!
  8. Participate in Clark Howard's Christmas Kids!  We don't have kids nor do we have to buy a lot for Christmas, so this year we will buy for a deserving little boy or girl!
  9. Watch Home Alone / Home Alone 2 at least a dozen times!
  10. Watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel!
  11. Put Christmas lights up outside & our 6 foot snowman on the front porch to greet guests!
  12. DIY at least one Christmas gift!  Have one in mind, now just to buy the supplies!
  13. Play Christmas bingo on Christmas Eve with Cody's family!  You never know who will end up with the potted meat and then someone else will try and trade!  A night full of laughs!
  14. See Christmas lights at some place new!  Maybe Callaway Gardens or maybe even closer to home!
  15. DIY cute Christmas gift tags for all the presents!
  16. Drink hot chocolate by the fire!
  17. Make the house smell like Christmas!  Pinterest has lots of stove top recipes that will work!
  18. Stuff our stockings on Christmas Eve!  Cody will peek or want something if I don't wait until the last minute!
  19. Decorate the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving! Hopefully, I won't be too tired from Black Friday shopping!
  20. Kiss Cody under the mistletoe anytime I want!  Now just to find some!
  21. Buy new gift wrap & wrap presents!
  22. Eat grilled lobster tails on Christmas day!  Been a Christmas tradition for several years and we can't stop now!
  23. Turn up the Christmas music as loud as I want while decorating!
  24. Spend as much time with family & friends as possible!
  25. Get a Christmas picture with Cody!

Thanksgiving is just 2 weeks away and Christmas will be here before we know it!  Where has the time gone this year?!?!

Have you made your Christmas bucket list yet?

Weekend Happenings

I love this time of the year, but it seems like we are always on the go.  For the past few weekends, it has been go, go, go and this weekend was not any different.

Mom and I headed to Dawsonville on Saturday to the Moonshine Festival.  The ad talks about how there is something for everyone and they were not lying.  Besides the fact that it was packed with people, there literally was something for everyone.  There was such a variety of booths and booths we hadn't seen anywhere else.  This was definitely one of the best festivals we have went to this year.  It was free to get in, but we paid $5 to park and the weather could not have been more perfect.

Still haven't figured out who the guy on the left is.  He was signing autographs so he must be somebody, right?!?!

Sunday, Tabatha and I headed to Sean's birthday party.  He just turned 3 and is so stinkin' cute!  Every present he opened, he kept saying "oh my goodness" and had us all laughing.  It was very low key with family and a few friends (Tabatha and I).

Coming up I have a baby shower to attend for an elementary school friend, mom's birthday, Cody and I are having professional pictures done, and the list goes on and on.  Is it bad that I want to use a vacation day just to stay at home and clean my house?!?!  Just 2 more months until the new year and maybe things can slow down!
